Our Story

The story of how The Giving Closet began is rooted in the transformative power of giving and the call to give with a generous heart that reflects God’s heart. Our journey started with a series of humble experiences, each one revealing more of what it truly means to give.

In the early days of our marriage, during a particularly challenging financial season, we found ourselves seeking help from a local food organization. I remember driving home, heart full of gratitude, imagining the meals I could prepare with the groceries I had received. But as I began unpacking the bags, that gratitude quickly turned into heartbreak. Almost everything was expired or unusable. I stood there in silence, stunned, thinking, “Risk getting sick or starving? This can’t be God’s provision.” I wanted to cry.

In that quiet, pivotal moment, a verse came to mind, John 3:16, the ultimate expression of love: God gave His very best. That truth pierced my heart. Real giving isn’t about passing along what’s broken, worn out, or leftover. True giving reflects God’s grace and excellence. It’s about offering our best, just as He did when He gave His greatly beloved and only begotten Son, Jesus. From that moment, the vision for The Giving Closet was born: the seed of a ministry not focused on large organizational giving, but on personal, heart-driven giving from our homes.

We felt called to create a Giving Closet filled with good things and encourage others to join us in turning ordinary closets into storehouses of generosity, where we give our best to reflect the heart of the Father. The calling was simple yet powerful: to become part of God's supply chain, a divine connection linking givers across the world, each inspired by Him, transforming ordinary closet spaces into sacred storehouses. Together with my husband, David, we’re endeavoring to build a global community of everyday givers who see Giving Closets as distribution centers of hope and sacred spaces for ministering to others.

So, it’s with this spirit that we invite you to join us. Create your Giving Closet. Become part of this ministry of generosity. Let’s inspire each other, touch lives, and reflect the love of Jesus, one Giving Closet at a time!
